Hurricane Protection
 

Owning a home on the East Cape of Baja is a dream come true for many and the joy of living in paradise is seldom more at risk than during our Hurricane season. Why trust to luck, or plywood, or inferior plastics when you can have proven security installed by local experts.

 

Bahia Construction is the Mexican distributorship for four different products. No single product is right for all houses. We evaluate your needs and discuss the options available. A written estimate is then given for approval.

 

All four of the products that Bahia Construction carries and installs, are Dade County Florida approved for both high velocity and high impact.
 

 

 

Roll Downs

 

Traditional hurricane roll-down shutters

Roll up and store in an enclosed box when not in use. Unlike panels, require no extra storage space.

 
Lower manually with a hand crank or automatically with a push button. Lock in place for storm protection.

Can easily be closed and opened by one person.

Like accordions, can be closed to protect homes against theft or vandalism when owners are away.

For roll-down shutters taller than 6 feet or wider than 6 feet we recommend the motorized roll-up feature. This is because of the initial weight of the shutter during opening. If two people are available to roll up large shutters, however, one can crank while the other assists for the first few seconds by lifting the shutter.

EZ-Screens use Gore Tanara thread for all the seams. Gore warranties the seams for the lifetime of the fabric. Our seams do not degrade in strength like other products. Our product carries a 10 year warranty. If the workmanship or product fails, we will fix or replace it at no cost to you. Other companies pro-rate their warranty so they only pay 10% of the cost after 10 years. 

EZ-Screens use metal cam buckles that do not slip-period! Our competitors use plastic buckles that slip and do not tighten effectively. They tell the customer to tie a knot or place a grommet below the buckle to stop the attachment from loosening. You do not have to do that with our metal buckles.

These provide a high level of protection from severe winds and flying debris.

 

Are extremely easy to operate. Expand along permanent, upper and lower tracks on small wheels. Can easily be made storm-ready by one person. Our accordions can be controlled from inside or outside of the home. Latch with an interlocking blade system.

 

 

Available in four colors: white, bronze, ivory and beige.

 

Like Roll-downs, can be closed to protect homes against theft or vandalism when owners are away.

Aluminum Storm Panels

 

Inexpensive

Aluminum & Steel panels offer the maximum shutter protection at the lowest possible cost. Panels represent the most economical system in the industry today. Ideal for residences, vacation homes or even commercial buildings.

 




Lightweight & easy to store

These strong, yet lightweight, reusable aluminum or steel panels can be compactly stored out of the way until needed. They are Hurricane approved for all current building codes and will not rust, rot or deteriorate.

 




Easy to Install

These panels are designed to be installed into a top header track and a bottom studded angle track. Once installed the panels slip into the upper header track and fasten to the lower track with washer based wing-nuts. The panels can be easily removed from the tracks and can be easily stored in your garage or shed.
